It starts with the table

It starts with a table. The one that has carvings of engraved fits of rage. The one that has been stained to cover the paint, marker, and glue stains, but it never really worked. It's just a plank of wood, but it is the gravity in our house. The houses change, but the table stays the same. Just in different shades. 

From the table, I have watched my sibling grow and my family change. Even through all of the fighting, the food would bring us together. For us, the food part of the infrastructure is not a decoration. When everything was shifting with the move to the farm, meals were our guiding light.
